Jackie Moore

My counseling career began after I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1988 with a B.S. in Family Studies and a minor in Substance Abuse Studies. I’ve also earned a master’s degree (M.S. in Counseling) from the University of North Texas. My therapy experience includes working in diverse treatment settings from in-patient to out-patient environments that provide various levels of care options.

I was born and raised in Dallas Texas, and in 1994 I married my husband. Together, our family has two grown children and one amazing dog. After the birth of our second child, I took an eighteen-year hiatus from counseling to raise our children. With our children now young adults, I have returned to the mental health field with deeper life experiences that have enhanced my abilities as a therapist.

My passions outside of my counseling practice include giving time to my community through volunteer leadership roles. In particular, I have served as a Board Member for The Elisa Project, a non-profit dedicated to fighting against eating disorders through education, support and advocacy. I’ve also organized charitable fundraisers to support The Grant Halliburton Foundation which helps teens and their families recognize the signs of distress or suicidal crisis in a young person and how to lead them to get help. Plus, I have been involved with C.A.R.E., a non-profit providing education and awareness about substance use disorders.
